Here are a few places to go to get permission to show movies for public performances:
Motion Picture Licensing Corporation’s (MPLC)
If you’re still looking for just the right clip before licensing, look at movieclips.com. The listing includes the training topic, movie title and studio. If these aren’t just right, or if you want to preview some clips before you explore rights, MovieClips.com is a good resource. I can’t promise they’ll have all the clips you want, but it’s a good starting point. For licensing information, contact Erica Haupert at 800-462-8855.
My friend at MPLC, the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation shared this document with me. If you’re looking for instructions on how to embed a video into your PowerPoint presentation, it’s a great resource. Click here for the PDF document: Movies in Powerpoint March 2010
