This is a popular one for communication and teamwork. It’s explained many places online, but I believe the originators were Karl Rohnke and Steve Butler (Quicksilver, 1995). The gist is that teams must move a bucket of toxic waste (water or ping pong balls) into a “neutralization” container. What makes the challenge quite difficult is that participants: 1) must not get to close or they’ll risk lose of limb or life; 2) must use minimal equipment (bungee cords, rope, etc.) and 3) must do it in 20 minutes, before it blows up.
